Hi I am

Leah

I was instantly drawn to Occupational Therapy because I wanted to help children in a practical and creative way. I have a Bsc. in Occupational Therapy from the University of Cape Town, South Africa with a postgraduate qualification in Ayers Sensory Integration in order to specialise in working with children with sensory processing difficulties. I have had the privilege of working in multiple settings from schools and colleges to hospitals and private homes. This has allowed me to be resourceful, adaptable and develop essential skills for supporting families in different contexts. I moved to the Uk in 2017 and began working for the NHS, in a hand therapy clinic and transitioned into paediatrics within the NHS setting. My time in the NHS equipped me to understand the UK culture, special schools and work closely with families, local authorities and schools.  I now have 2 children of my own and am even more aware of the positive role an OT can have in a family's life.  I am so looking forward to working alongside you to get the very best out of your precious child.

SERVICES

Support in your childs school setting, or in the familiarity of your home.

Services

Assessments

Occupational Therapy Assessments involve face to face-to-face time with your child, getting to know them and looking specifically at the concerns you have raised. I will work with you to identify their needs and ask questions that will allow me to gain an in-depth understanding of how best I can help them and you. I use standardised and informal assessments to do this. Finally I will compile all the information into a report, proposing an appropriate intervention plan going forward

Therapy

This includes weekly therapy support and input in the child's school or home setting. It will be goal-directed and reviewed at regular intervals with collaboration from yourselves or the school.

Consultations

Consultations can take place virtually or over the phone. I will offer once-off support for families or a few sessions, depending on your needs.
